GAMES not in material

Mad mice – marshmallow mice, string tied on, pot lid, dice – roll dice when a 6 landed on crash pot lid down. Kids have to pull their mouse out in time or else it will be squashed.

NEED: marshmallow mice, string, pot lid

Super Stomp - Divide the kids into 2 teams. Have balloons in 2 colours, one colour for eachteam. Write down different points on pieces of paper and out into eachballoon. The kids tie their balloon around their ankle with a short length ofwool. When the whistle blows, the kids try to stomp on the balloons of theopposite team, and gather up the points.
NEED: balloons, string, points

Number game - For the game you will need a series of numbers (I usually use 4 x 100, 200,300, 400 and 500), behind each number is an activity that the group has todo, easy things for 100 and getting more complicated as the numbers go up. Iusually vary that some of the things it is just the group that chooses thenumber and some things it is all the groups competing for the points. Theteam that does best at the activity then gets the points. The kids are splitinto teams and the teams take turns to choose which number they want – thelower the number the more likely their team is to get the points. As far as theactivities go, I just usually make something up like dressing up a teammember in newspaper, pictionary, saying the memory verse etc.
NEED: newspaper, paper and pens, memory verse, song to sing

Race against Rust! - One at a time team members must use a holey bucket to transport waterfrom one place to another as quickly as they can – go too slowly and they’ll start to rust! The winning team is the one with the most water in their container.
NEED: bucket with holes drilled in it, water

Cube Quest - There will be a series of small tasks to perform by individual members ofthe group. If all tasks are performed adequately, the team will be given apurple cube box. Inside will be a clue about where an orange cube ishidden. The group must find the orange cube, look after it and presentit to the leader at the end of the Challenge.
NEED: orange cube per player, purple cube per player, clue, tasks

Shave a balloon -  kids each have a balloon covered in shaving cream. Must shave it with a razor – cleanest one wins.
NEED: disposable razor per player, shaving cream, balloons

Marshmallow race – broom handle, tie on string of differing lengths, marshmallows on string. Kids lie on ground under the string and have to try to catch as many marshmallows as they can while the leader ‘winds’ the broom and makes the strings shorter or longer.
NEED: String, broom handle, marshmallow fish
Nuts and bolts jewelry – make necklace / arm band with nuts / bolts and scoobie wire type material
NEED: plastic cords / scoobie wire, nuts and bolts

Shaving cream relay – one blob in each of the first team members hand. Have to run and pass the blob on. The winner is the team with the most shaving cream left.
NEED: Shaving cream

Shaving cream cake decorating – each team gets a box which they must cover in shaving cream and various items to use to decorate. They must make it look like a cake. Best cake wins.
NEED: box per team, shaving cream, decorations, bowl to wash in after, black bags to throw cakes in after

Balloon toss - In pairs. Each pair gets a small balloon filled with water. Stand in two rows facing each other – close to start off with. At signal throw balloon to partner. Then take a step back each round until last two remain with intact balloon. Last pair is winner.
NEED: balloons, water

Catch the dragon’s tail – player’s line up and put hands on waist of person in front. Last person tucks scarf / handkerchief in back pocket / belt / short. First person tries to grab the scarf. When he head gets the tail he takes the scarf and becomes the tail himself. The person second in line becomes the new head.
NEED: scarf / hanky

Poof ball – players in two teams. Midway line on table with masking tape. Players decide on winning score before game starts (10-15 points is reasonable). Ball placed in centre of table. At signal players blow the ball. No hands or lips to touch ball / table! Point per ball blown off table on opposite teams side. After 3 points players in team rotated (two play at a time). First team to reach predetermined score wins.
NEED: table, masking tape, ping pong ball

Slaughter – 2 teams. Masking tape down middle of room. 1 team either side. Not allowed on other teams side otherwise out. At signal throw ball at other team, if hit a player they must leave the court. If ball caught before it hits the floor then it doesn’t count. Game ends when a team has been eliminated / slaughtered.
NEED: two balls, masking tape

Mailman – the mail man needs to intercept the mail. Players need to pass the mail on to the next destination without being intercepted by the mailman. Arrange chairs in different spots around room. each player gets a piece of mail except the mailman who is blindfolded. Each player takes the name of a place and sits in a chair. One of the players is the conductor and calls out the mail is going from _________ to __________. The two players whose places are called must change places and exchange mail in the process without being intercepted by the mailman. If the mail man succeeds in intercepting the mail, he changes places with the person who had it, and that person becomes the mail man.
NEED: envelopes, chair per player, one blindfold, signs for places, prestick

Frisbee tag – one player ‘it’. Team throws Frisbee to each other. ‘it’ tries to intercept. If he/she gets the Frisbee the person that threw it becomes ‘it’.
